Cockpit

Cockpit is a server management interface created for Fedora, but working on most Linux distros.

Podman container management

• Enable the “containers” application.
• You will find a “containers” pane on the left
• The top section lets you download images from container registries.
• The bottom lets you create new containers, see the status of running ones and even open a shell inside a running container

Linking cockpit instances

You can link a cockpit instance to another so that you can manage both from a unified interface.

• Use ssh-copy-id to copy over your ssh keys and enable passwordless login
• Click on the top-left in cockpit (where the current hostname is)
• You will see and “Add New Host button” where you can enter the IP address/domain name for the host.
